Meet the Pastor
The Pastor and His Family
John came to Lanark in July of 2005. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY. John attended Warner Southern College in Lake Wales, Fl. graduating with a degree in Organizational Management and Biblical Studies. He then moved to Indiana where he received his Master's of Divinity (M.Div) from Bethany Theological Seminary.
John has been married to his wife Amanda for 13 years and they have a 7 year old daughter named Eden. In his spare time John is also a Fireman and Chaplain for the Lanark Fire Department.
John has been in Ministry for 13 years. Before serving the Lanark Church of the Brethren (2005 - present) as their Pastor, he served for 5 years at the Pleasant Dale Church of the Brethren (2000-2005) in Decatur, IN. where he was the Youth Pastor. Prior to that John served at the Sebring Church of the Brethren (1998-2000) in Sebring, Fl. where he was the Youth Pastor.
A Message from the Pastor:
In a fast changing world there are fewer and fewer opportunities for you to find the one place that you feel welcomed and at peace. When you find that place it is a wonderful thing. As the pastor of the Lanark Church of the Brethren I can say that I have found that place. We are a people who desire to enter into the presence of God. Our church is a place where the Spirit of God is fostered along with the relationships that encourage us to continue the journey.
The Lanark Church of the Brethren is a place that one can come as they are and feel part of the family from the moment they enter. It is a place where we can come before God and not worry about who is looking. It is a place where all that worship are touched by the Spirit. It is a place that will encourage all who come to continue to hold their heads high as we journey through life. It truly is a place for you!
